Day Nineteen....


So we all petered out on the walk because of the cold. We are total wimps... I will say though - that I think it was in the best interest of my knee not to go.


Nicky, you're very right about the muscle weighing more than fat - except I doubt I've built up that much muscle in so short a time. Wouldn't that be nice though *sigh*


Today I'm pulling out all the stops and having a total non-carb day. Believe me...I'm in no way pushing the lo-carb route - it's just that I need to kick start this diet with some kind of substantial weight loss (even if it IS water - and even if I DO have to give up my precious carbs for one day.) I need motivation! Gone are the days when I could go on a diet and drop the pounds like melting butter. Ah to be young....


You'd think though since I'm so freaking overweight that the pounds would be coming off faster than they are. Aren't fat people supposed to be able to lose more quickly than their skinny counterparts?


So how IS everyone doing so far? I noticed we all had cake on our plates at the shower.... But hey - so did the skinny people so there must be some element of this we're missing here.


Anyone got any clues???


Oh..and my dumb pedometer broke. Dang AARP! The other ones I fished out the drawers are all shot too. The only one working measures miles and I want STEPS. So it's off to get another one this week. It's been the only real positive thing I've done that is giving me progress.

Hello all, I am posting to be a good sport and show my appreciation for Laurie tending to this site each day and trying to keep us motivated. I got on the scale Saturday morning and said I was down 1 more lb. which made my total 5!! I was very excited. I didnt think I did too bad Saturday, a little fruit for breakfast, at the shower- 2 little corners , salad and a little mac salad, I did have cake and 1 piece of pizza for dinner- no after dinner snacks, no beer, when I got on the scale this morning 1 damn pound was back!!! SO FREAKING FRUSTRATING!!!! If you add all the calories up for the whole day it would be impossible to gain a pound... I know I know the extra weight the day before was probably water , dont weigh myself everyday, muscle weighs more than fat. Yada yada yada, but I cant resist getting on that scale everyday looking for some reward to all the sacrifice.
Worked out extra hard today. 1full hour of sweat, eating well and that pound better be gone in the morning! OK my keyboard is scared because I am pounding on it so hard( no pun intended).
Pray for me, I'll pray for you too, Keep on trying right?

That girl has my jeans on! I actually cleaned out my closet today and finally threw out all my old size 8 jeans. Even with my best efforts, those days are gone! I did save one pair though, just to remember the good ole days by.
My weigh in day is tomorrow so keep your fingers crossed.
We never did walk today, spent 3 hours putting the invites together. There is something to be said for "Honey, can you stop by the printers and pick up Nicoles Invitations for me?"

I had a really bad weekend. But this week I am working to get back on track. Man I hope nobodys thrown in the towel.. I need you guys! Well, next weekend we MUST walk! Maybe Saturdays might work better. Get us moving in the morning.

Anyways, I dont have much to say for myself I had a stinky eating weekend. Grr...
